heard. inland temperatures warmed up yesterday and even the coast cleared out. will that continue today? time now for "mornings on 2." well, good morning. welcome to "mornings on 2." i'm dave clark. >> good morning. i'm tori campbell. it's monday, october 1st. the search continues this morning for two missing men off the san mateo coast. lorraine blanco near hedgen point where the men disappeared where their boat capsized yesterday. good morning, lorraine. >> reporter: good morning, tori. i just got off the boat with the coast gurd. they say they have a cutter boat off the coast. the helicopter is climbing past us. an 18-foot stripper capsized

around 10:30 -- i should say striper, capsized around 10:30, a little over 20 miles from hoof man bay. one of the missing men is pin you ming of san francisco. >> he's a good brother, good husband, good son to the family. >> reporter: we're told the two other men were taken to the hospital with hypothermia. the coast guard said fog made visibility difficult but they are mott sure what made the boat overturn. the men were not wearing life jackets. a coast guard went into the air a few minutes ago. during the live shot, we're gonna get closer and see if we can see them in the water searching for the men. lorraine blanco, ktvu channel 2 news. in overnight news a shooting in oakland, seriously

injured a man and a woman. neighbors say there was gunshots just before midnight near 7th and fillmore street. allie rasmus is live. allie, a lot of damage there, right? i'm looking other your shoulder. >> reporter: a lot. the people we spoke to said there was were ten stray shots fired, one after another. there is a lot of damage in front of this apartment building. you can see some of the bullet holes in the window. there's one in the frame of the window and a lot of bullet holes inside this entryway. there's some underneath the bully ton board in the entryway of this apartment building. two people were hurt in this shooting. a man and woman were seriously injured. they were taken to the hospital. -- hospital. witnesses say four people approached the building, opened

fire. we don't know if the couple were targeted. the man and woman were the intended target of the shooting or they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. what is also unnear is where the man and woman were -- unclear is where the man and woman were standing. paramedics treated the victims in the median. police found about 50 bullet casings and the bullets appeared to be going in all directions. some of the cars in the street had their windows shattered. they did have some bullet casings. back out here live. there are surveillance cameras directly overheard. surely police will be taking a look at that video, to see if they can track down they believe is responsible for their shooting. anyone who has information is asked to give oakland police a call. live in oakland, ktvu channel 2

news, allie rasmus. police arrested an 84-year- old woman accused of driving a car that hit a man in the crosswalk right near the cal campus. police believe that elderly driver may have been under the influence. it happened around 8:40 at hurst and spruce streets. the injured man reportedly is in critical condition. new security measures are in place at a school where police say a man abducted a girl. there is new restrictions at the school. police say 25-year-old bradley morasik, they say, he abducted a 9-year-old girl from a bathroom. she was able to break free and escape and then ran back to the campus reporting what happened. police also say he trespassed on also school campuses. he's due in court.

7:05. new polls indicate president obama may already have the electoral votes to win a second term. 270 electoral votes are required to win the -- to win the presidency. an "associated press" poll says if the election were held today, president obama would win 271 votes. mott, 206 i lek troll votes. but more campaigning is to be had along with the presidential debate -- debates. coming up at 7:15, what analysts are saying about the possibility of a major ruling on gay marriage with the supreme court. okay. sal, how are would doing out there? >> we're doing okay. we've had a couple of things even though the crashes have

francisco crime lab technician accused of stealing cocaine. deborah maden is accused of stealing cocaine, and that did cause the district attorney to dismiss several cases brought to that lab. saturday morning in potter valley, there was a fire and the family members identified the victim and his son. three others were in the home but they were rescued. 11 votes found dead at the scene -- in southeastern sacramento. 11 people were held for questioning. the sacramento county animal control have been feeding

sentence without parole. 7:17. new this morning, an american airlines flight had to make an emergency landing in new york for an unemployment reason. a row of seats became unbolted. it says the plane that was heading from miami to boston had to be diverted yesterday. no one was seriously hurt. but it's another blow to the airline which is already struggling with bankruptcy and also delayed flights. the airline carrying the baltimore orioles, their flight was diverted to jacksonville. the plane was inspected and cleared to clean on with their -- with their destination. the oakland as are just one win away from clinching a spot in the playoffs. they will play the last three games of the regular season

hospital. it started at raulston avenue and ended with a crash on holly street. janine delava gay is live de la vega is live with more. >> reporter: good morning, tori. investigators say they found at least a dozen bulletcations on highway 101. today they need the public's help to figure out who opened fire here. police say a car was in the southbound lanes of highway 101 when the driver lost control because another vehicle same alongside and started shooting. the charger tore across lanes, slammed into bushes and slammed into a construction area. the accident snarled traffic for hours and it also injured the three people inside the charger. two were men and one was a woman.

area four months later. the two women went to high school together. the man killing seven people at an oakland school will be back in court. a pretrial hear something scheduled for one goe. a suicide bombing killed at least 14 people including three nato troops in afghanistan. authorities say the bomb hit a group of afghan police and international troops. nato has not told us the nashalitys of those who were killed. but most of the troops in that province are americans. in japan, hundreds of protesting are -- are

out -- out there that way. an 18-foot striper capsized around 10:30 a.m. yesterday near pigeon point a little more than 20 miles south of half moon bay. four men were on the boat. family members tell us one of the physical -- missing men is ping yao sing of san francisco. the coast guard said they were not wearing life jackets. >> he's not a very good swimmer but we still have hope he's still alive. >> reporter: we're told the two other men were taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation. back out here live, you can see the helicopter in the air just over the water. the coast guard says the fog made visibility difficult yesterday but they are not sure what made the bolt overturn.

just before -- in this shooting that happened just before midnight. we don't know if the man and woman who were -- were shot were targeted or if they happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. what's also clear is where exactly the man and woman were standing when this shooting. even though there were bullet holes all throughout the building, the paramedics were treating the injured out in the median. police found as many as 11 bulletcations -- casings. so anyone with information that may have seen what happened or heard what happened, they are asked to call police. residents talked to us off camera and said they heard at least ten seconds of rapid fire, one shot fired right
